When your neighbour needs quality medical care, distance shouldn't be a barrier. It was that understanding that compelled us to make a $100,000 donation to the Transforming Tomorrow Diagnostic Imaging Campaign at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital (STEGH).

The campaign had an ambitious goal: bring the first-ever MRI machine to St. Thomas and Elgin County. Having that kind of access to enhanced diagnostic imaging technology would transform how our community receives healthcare. No more long drives to London or other cities for essential scans. No more extended waits for answers when families need them most.

    A Community Comes Together

Through the incredible generosity of local residents, businesses, and organizations, the campaign raised more than $8 million. Reaching that milestone means our community will have access to state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment that delivers faster, more accurate results while keeping patients close to their support networks.

For families dealing with health concerns, this represents something invaluable — the comfort of receiving care in their own community, surrounded by familiar faces, and without the stress of traveling long distances.

As a mutual, we understand that strong communities need more than insurance coverage. When residents have access to quality healthcare close to home, everyone benefits. So when we see an opportunity to strengthen the foundation that supports our neighbors' wellbeing, we act. The diagnostic imaging campaign aligned perfectly with our commitment to making our communities safer, healthier places for everyone who calls them home.

At Salus, we believe there’s nothing more enduring or meaningful than neighbour helping neighbour. That’s why we were honoured to help bring state-of-the-art imaging technology to STEGH. To everyone who participated in Transforming Tomorrow, congratulations! This was a transformational campaign, and we look forward to seeing the positive impact it will have on residents throughout our region.
